Faith in the light of Reason-Reason in the light of Faith: Ecumenical and Interfaith Commission

From October 27, 2013 13:00 until October 27, 2013 15:00

The Ecumenical and Interfaith Commission invites you to an Ecumenical Symposium:

Faith in the light of Reason -  Reason in the light of Faith

Time: 2pm – 4pm Sunday October 27, 2013
Location: Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, 362 Albert Street, East Melbourne VIC 3002

In the Year of Faith, the Catholic Church has been focusing on the theological virtue of faith, and on the content of the Christian Faith, especially as contained in the ecumenical Creeds. In this symposium we will enter into an area that has been behind many of the divisions within the Christian theological tradition: the relationship of Faith and Reason. The speakers will outline the traditional approaches of the communities in which their faith has been formed, and open up contemporary ways of understanding this relationship.

Speakers:

  • Callan Ledsham (Catholic)
  • Nick Mattiske (Lutheran)
  • Colleen Arnold-Moore (Anglican)
  • Daniel Bellis (Greek Orthodox)
  • Chris Mostert (Uniting Church)

Free Admission / RSVP to the EIC office at eic@cam.org.au or 0400 978 938.
