Tour 3 to Places of Worship 2024: Interfaith Network of Greater Dandenong

The City of Greater Dandenong Interfaith Network invites you to:

A Tour to Places of Worship 2024

Date: Wednesday 11 December 2024      Time: 8:30am to 3:00pm 
Tour departs from: Interfaith Network Office, Level 1, 39 Clow Street, Dandenong (Free parking available off Stuart Street, behind IFN Office)

The Interfaith Network is a group of diverse cultural and religious faiths, working in partnership with the Greater Dandenong Council to promote peace and harmony within the municipality.

The community is invited to attend public tours for an opportunity to see the diversity within our area, focusing on the religious and faith dimension of multiculturalism.

Tour Features
An opportunity to visit the places of worship of the local faith communities, including:

  • The Hindu Temple in Carrum Downs
  • A Mosque, either in Dandenong or Noble Park
  • A Buddhist Temple, either Springvale South, Noble Park, or Keysborough
  • A Christian Church, either Western or Eastern tradition
  • A Jewish Temple in Bentleigh or St Kilda
  • An Islamic Mosque in Dandenong or Keysborough
  • A Sikh Gurdwara in Blackburn or Keysborough
  • Brahma Kumaris in Frankston South
  • Spiritual traditions

  • Wednesday 9 October, 8.30am-3pm
  • Wednesday 11 December, 8.30am-3pm

Tour registration and payment is required in advance of the Tour.

Respectful Practices:

  • Modest clothing worn in all Places of Worship would be appreciated.
  • All are requested to remove their shoes before entering the Sikh Gurdwara, Hindu and Buddhist Temples and Mosque.
  • All are asked to wear socks on entering the Mosque and women entering the Mosque are asked to cover their heads and wear clothing which covers arms to wrists and legs to ankles, men are asked to cover their heads in the Jewish Synagogue, and all are asked to cover their heads in the Gurdwara.
  • PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN HEAD COVERING FOR THE MOSQUE; head covering is only provided in the Synagogue & Gurdwara. 
  • Visitors should have no tobacco on their person when entering the Gurdwara
