A priest, a rabbi and an imam walk onto a plane … No, this is not the start of a joke – it actually happened in May this year, when four Christians, four Muslims and four Jews, all from Melbourne, set off on a Joint Jerusalem Journey, the first such interfaith journey from Australia to Jerusalem; a city that is holy to all three Abrahamic faiths. The purposes of the Journey were to engage in dialogue, study the peace movement in Jerusalem, and to engage in serious discussion about each other’s beliefs.
During September, congregations within the Uniting Church in Australia, as well as other interested individuals or groups, are encouraged to create a community of hospitality, conversation and friendship with people of all faiths (and no faiths) throughout their neighbourhood.

On Saturday 13th September, 2014, the Buddhist Council of Victoria and the Ecumenical and Interfaith Commission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne co-hosted a conversation on “Care in Prisons and Hospitals” at the Buddhist Society of Victoria’s centre in Malvern East.
Under the banner of the Gippsland Ethnic Communities' Council (GECC) - Gippsland Interfaith, a forum was held at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Tuesday 26th August, 2014 where project officers of the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria (ECCV), Elena Petreska and Susan Timmins, presented a report on the "Culturally Responsive Palliative Care Community Education Project 2013-2014". The forum was an overwhelming success and attended by over fourty people from a variety of faith groups.
