Welcome to FCCV

Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body. It is the successor to the Leaders of Faith Communities Forum, founded in 1995.

FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.

The Contemplative Studies Centre invites you to:

Experience the Baha'i faith

Date: Tuesday 12 July 2022      Time: 2pm to 4pm
Location: Webinar

Is it possible that all religions are from the same source, and that all of humanity is one race? Join us for an exploration of the Baha’i Faith, whose central teaching is oneness: oneness of humanity, the oneness of religion, and the oneness of God. This session will explore what meditation means to Baha’is, meditation’s relationship with prayer, and how prayer and meditation are the foundation of Baha’i efforts to establish an inclusive and vibrant community life. This event invites participation from all persons, regardless of religious beliefs. The presentation will explore how a shared experience of unity can help all of us to work together for the betterment of our world.

What to expect

There will be a group meditation and discussion about Baha’i community life. Participants will learn some of the core Baha’i beliefs and participate in activities to reflect and meditate on the meaning of some quotations from different Sacred Texts. The workshop will conclude with a 20-minute Q&A.
