Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body. It is the successor to the Leaders of Faith Communities Forum, founded in 1995.
FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.
The WE ARE THE WORLD! Bring a Bell! Concert, is a professionally directed concert, presenting a magnificent blend of traditional, classical and sacred music and dance.
With over 160 performers, this world repertoire of live music and dance, will perform for the first time in Bendigo on Sunday November 12th at Ulumbarra Theatre (4:30-6:30pm).
Performances includes popular Scottish pipe tunes; Indian Drumming Ceremony; Turkish Sufi meditative music and dance; Italian, Russian, Karen, Persian and Hebrew hymns and chants; Gospel, Chinese and Filipino choir folk music; Polish, Italian, Greek and Karen folk music and dances; and rare song lines in authentic Dja Dja Wurrung and Wemba Wemba languages. All dances performed in authentic traditional colourful and intricate costumes.
The internationally renowned Andrew Wailes, Patron and Musical Advisor, has compiled some of the greatest exponents of these diverse musical forms and traditions into a synergy which is the common language of music, masterfully blending the entire selection into one musical unit, concluding with federation and audience bells joining in unity.
