The Darebin Interfaith Council (DIFC) would like to invite you to:

Tour to Places of Worship in Darebin

Date: Thursday 27 August 2015       Time: 10:00am-4:30pm
Location: Meet at Preston Town Hall, 284 Gower St, Preston (near corner of High St)
                 (Finish at 4:30pm and drop off at pick up point)

Darebin City Council and the Darebin Interfaith Council would like to invite you to a guided tour to some of the key places of worship within the Darebin municipality. This is in response to our commitment to engage with our culturally and religiously diverse communities. Darebin City Council is committed to engage with its cultural, linguistic and religious communities to address local issues. This tour will help participants to understand the diversity of our city and to recognise the importance of dialogue and collaboration to build a safe, well connected and prosperous city.

Venues include:

  • St Mary's Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Thornbury (morning tea served)
  • Linh Son Buddhist Congregation (Reservoir Buddhist Temple) in Reservoir (vegetarian lunch served)
  • Omar Bin Al Kattab Mosque (Preston Mosque) in Preston (refreshments served)

Light vegetarian refreshments will be served. Please wear comfortable shoes and modest clothing covering legs and shoulders. You may be asked to remove your shoes or cover your head to enter some areas of worship.

RSVP essential by 21st August: This is a free event including bus transport. However, registration is essential as space is limited 55 participants. All are welcome.
