Religious Freedom and Tolerance in a Global Age

Contrary to Nietzsche’s declaration, God does not appear to be dead. Right around the world, religious and humanist world views are influencing national and international processes. The issues surrounding freedom of religion and belief and freedom of conscience are emerging in new international, national and local contexts.

Featuring a terrific line up of presenters, this unique symposium will offer attendees the chance to examine religious freedom and tolerance from a number of differing perspectives.

Presentations include:

  • Acceptance and Tolerance in a Global Context: Models of Interfaith Cooperation, Presented by Professor Fred Woods, Brigham Young University, USA.
  • Freedom of Conscience under Siege – Déjà vu or Something New?, Presented by Professor Neville Rochow, S.C., Notre Dame University Law School, and Adelaide Law School.
  • After Café Lindt: Emerging Challenges for Multifaith Australia,Presented by Professor Des Cahill, O.A.M., RMIT University, Melbourne.
