This Concert of Sacred Music, music that expresses the universal yearning that is shared by people of all cultures brings together Australia’s First Nations Didgeridoo master alongside some of Australia’s leading sacred music practitioners. This concert of the spirit will explore the yearning that our spiritual traditions offer with sublime artistry and the chance for deep meditative reflection. Starting with the oldest extant tradition of the world, our musical tradition of this country we pass the depth of Vedic chanting, the wealth of Jewish and Islamic sacred song, the ecstasy of the Sikh Kirtan and the introversion of the contemporary composer John Tavener.
