Can a Scientist believe?: Jewish Christian Muslim Association

The Jewish Christian Muslim Association of Australia (JCMA) invites you to:

Can a Scientist Believe?
Exploring themes of science & faith raised in ABC Compass program

Date: Tuesday 10 May 2022     Time: 7pm to 8:30pm
Location: Online (must register prior to event)

“There's a sense of awe and wonder when you look at the night sky. You can imagine how, in ancient times, people tried to make sense of it all, with whole families of gods up there in the sky. In just a few days, I'll be looking up to the skies for Stargazing 2018. But before I go, I'm wondering, is there any room for a God up there? And can a scientist have a religious faith?” (Kumi Taguchi, ABCTV Compass).

We are inviting our JCMA members and friends to a JCMA on-line ‘conversation/reflection” session to reflect on themes raised in the ABC Compass program where host Kumi Taguchi talks to scientists – some who believe in God and some who do not – to ask “Can a Scientist Believe?”.

The questions asked in this program may spark questions of our own view of the world around us. What is our understanding of the relationship between science and faith and the way we talk about faith to people with a science based view of the world.
