In 2018, Refugee Week will be held from 17 June to 23 June. We encourage you to join us for the range of activities that will take place during Refugee Week 2018. Hear the inspiring stories of refugees and asylum seekers, and enjoy cultural performances.
Refugee Week Celebration and the launch of the Melton City Council’s membership to the Council of Europe’s Intercultural Cities programme.
Free event - light refreshments provided.

Discover the reasons why people seek asylum, understand the situations they face and meet those who've experienced it for themselves in Red Cross' engaging community education program.

Abdi Aden is a Somali refugee who as a teenager in the 1990s escaped the civil war to live rough in Romania and eventually arrive in Australia speaking no English. Aden is now a university-educated Australian citizen working with the refugee community in Melbourne.

Celebrate refugee week by picking up some fabric and getting your hands involved in a contemporary take on weaving, a cultural practice that is handed down from generation to generation in different cultures around the world.
