On Thursday 5 February 2015, over one hundred religious, spiritual and community leaders from diverse traditions, attended a Luncheon for the fifth UN World Interfaith Harmony Week, hosted by The Interfaith Centre of Melbourne in Queen’s Hall, Parliament House.
On Wednesday 4 February 2015, the Yarra Interfaith Network held its first public event at the Richmond Town Hall in the evening. The theme of the session was the challenges that women face when practising their particular faith in Australia.
White Ribbon Day is marked around the world every year on 25th November to highlight the existence of family violence in an attempt to take a step towards its eradication. On 20th November 2014, the Casey Multifaith Network held forum entitled “Preventing Family Violence” to express their solidarity with the cause of the White Ribbon Foundation, which was attended by over 120 people of different faith backgrounds.
