Ladies from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association and St Paul Apostle Parish Interfaith and Ecumenical Committee met in Endeavour Hills on Tuesday 18 October 2011, to promote interfaith dialogue . This meeting was initiated by the ladies of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association in an effort to better understand the life and works of St. Paul and his role in Christianity.

St. PaulAhmadiyya ladies have been meeting as a group for the past year to study the similarities and differences between Islam and Christianity in the light of Quranic and Biblical teachings. When the members from St. Paul the Apostle  Parish were invited to discuss the role of St. Paul, they readily accepted the invitaion and Sister Brigid Murphy was designated as the keynote speaker.

Sister Brigid Murphy is a Cross and Passion Sister who originates from Co Kerry, in the South West of Ireland. She has a background in Teaching, Social Work with children and families. She is currently engaged in Parish Pastoral Work in Endeavour Hills and in Retreat Ministry at Holy Cross, Templestowe.

Sister Brigid gave a detailed account of St. Paul's life before conversion to Christianity and his transformation after the conversion experience.  The audience was intrigued and asked various questions ranging from the teachings of Christianity and life of Jesus Christ (peace be on him) to the role and accessibility of the present Pope. The dialogue lasted around 80 minutes, followed by afternoon tea and refreshments. This gathering was a testimony to the importance of interfaith dialogue and how it promotes interfaith harmony.
