‘To Belong, I need to be Missed’ – Disability and inclusion in faith communities
During the past year, the Uniting Church in Victoria, with support from the Office for Disability, has undertaken a research project to investigate the experiences of people with disabilities and faith leaders, from Buddhist, Christian, Jewish and Muslim perspectives.
A Disability Inclusion Report including an Easy English version and DVD of the same title are now available. They were officially launched by Dr Lorna Hallahan, Deputy Chair National People with Disabilities and Carer Council. Click here to listen to Lorna’s talk.
This report and DVD contributes to the push for people with disabilities to assume their rightful place in the preferred worship/social life context.
Comments, ideas, strategies and feedback are all very welcome, as people of like mind come together and build networks that share hopes, dreams, frustrations and strategies.
