On Sunday 30th August, the Mornington Peninsula Interfaith Network held a 'Winter' Listening to the Land walk with indigenous elder Uncle Lionel Lauch at "The Briars" in Mt Martha.

“The Briars” is a beautiful, rural property known for its delightful old Homestead on 230 hectares, which is steeped in local history, flora and fauna.

About 65 people turned up from toddlers to seniors and the weather was kind, with beautiful sun shining on us as we enjoyed the didgeridoo meditation.

Uncle Lionel showed everyone different plants which can be used for medicines, foods, tools and implements as we walked along the board walk towards the Balcombe Estuary.

The day finished off with the group sharing a lovely afternoon tea back at the Briars picnic tables.
