The Federation of Indian Origin Multi-Faith Organisation Inc (FIMO) is a representative body for faith organisations Indians identify with. Through advocacy and consultation, we work to promote and enhance interaction between Australians identifying with Indian heritage, who belong to various faiths, with the broader Victorian community.

FIMO Reference Committee - Expressions of Interest

Federation of Indian Origin Multi-Faith Organisation Inc (FIMO) is seeking expressions of interests from those with a passion for promoting community harmony to join an interfaith reference committee to help inform our organisation in running projects that closely reflect the values and needs of Victorians of various faith backgrounds sharing an Indian heritage.

The purpose of the FIMO Multi-faith Reference Committee is to provide FIMO with advice and feedback regarding spirituality and challenges faced by multiple faith groups. FIMO will select individuals from various walks of life that are keen to make a difference in society and those with diverse spiritual affiliations.

Nominations will be sought every 2 years for the reference committee. Meetings will be held on Saturday afternoons (2pm) on a bi-monthly basis (sub-committee may sit regularly leading up to key project deliverables).

Nominations close 30th of August.

To apply, follow the prompts on this link http://fimo.org.au/Applicationform.aspx

FIMO Indian Interfaith Guide

The state Government of Victoria has funded FIMO to produce an Indian Interfaith Guide. The Interfaith Guide will result in a hard-copy and online resource that gives readers information on various social norms and practices of adherents of the various faiths. The Guide will be promoted to and utilised by mainstream services, the courts, community organisations, religious sectors, government and non-government bodies.

FIMO is seeking input from the broader spiritual community and its representatives to provide their input regarding their faith practices and issues they confront that are linked to faith. FIMO welcomes you to share your ideas by clicking the following link and filling out the FIMO Interfaith Guide Data Collection form on the FIMO website.  Your input is necessary for the success and utility of the Interfaith Guide.

The Indian Interfaith Guide is a vital step to proactively addressing the potential causes of conflict, difference and prejudice in our community as it relates to those of Indian origin. We are proud to have State Government support in producing this important document, and look forward to your active support of our endeavours.
