A new multi-faith immersion day program, based on the very successful one which Spiritual Health Victoria facilitated in 2013/14, is to be offered in Semester 2 in collaboration with the University of Divinity through Stirling College (Code number: DP2/3/9022S). It will be facilitated by Heather Tan (our Manager for Education and Research) and Rev Dr Alan Niven from Stirling College.

We are working with our multi-faith partners from the Buddhist Council of Victoria, the Hindu Community Council of Victoria, the Islamic Council of Victoria, the Jewish Community Council of Victoria, the Orthodox Christian Chaplaincy Council and the Sikh Interfaith Council. The program will offer participants from the health care system the opportunity to experience each of these faith groups through a full day immersion program. The dates of these immersion days are as follows:    

• Hindu - Monday 3 August
• Muslim - Tuesday 18 August
• Jewish - Thursday 3 September
• Sikh – Friday 18  September
• Buddhist - Wednesday 7 October
• Orthodox Christian - Monday 19 October

SPECIAL OFFER!!! As a result of the recent good news that we were successful with our application to the Victorian Multicultural Association for extra funds for our Spiritual Care in a Multi-faith Setting program at Stirling College (Code: DP2/3/9022S and link http://stirling.edu.au/dp9022s), we are able to offer 5 subsidised audit positions. These will be awarded on a “first in, first served” basis to applicants who are currently involved in spiritual/pastoral care work. To access this great opportunity for a refund of $200, enrol for the course as an audit student then apply to Alan Niven for the subsidy refund. The program starts on 3 August so time is running out.
