On Saturday 28 February 2015, the Kingston Interfaith Network hosted a wonderful Interfaith Breakfast at Café Sana in Moorabbin. This was a popular event with approximately 50 people attending from in and around Kingston. The guest speakers, and committee were extremely welcoming to all who attended which helped make the event such a success.
The event began with a breakfast whilst Kingston Interfaith Committee member Dianna Muller opened the event by paying respects to the custodians of the land and then explained the aims of the Kingston Interfaith Network before welcoming the guest of honour Bhakta Dasa. Bhakta Dasa is a Minister of Religion in the Vaisnava Hindu, Vedic tradition of India, through the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
Bhakta spoke passionately about his involvement with the Inter-faith movement here in Melbourne.
Also of interest were Bhakta's experiences managing several Vegetarian restaurants as well as overseeing the Hare Krishna Food for Life (Care for Life) programs that distribute Free Vegetarian meals to hundreds every day.
Afterwards there were many conversations that continued showing how happy people were to continue networking and enjoying the opportunity to meet new people.
