The network was formally established in February 2012 and its main objective is to promote unity and strive for a harmonious community. It is hoped this will be achieved through providing opportunities for community members to gain an understanding of the cultures and faith that exist in Cardinia Shire.

Everyone was invited to bring a meal and celebrate the wonderful diversity we have within the shire. Lunch was promoted as "the world on a plate" and the feast on offer certainly lived up to this title. Various members of the Cardinia Interfaith Network shared their stories including celebrating the occasion through song and dance.
