Catalyst Enterprises would like to invite you to:

Interfaith Succah Peace Party

Date: Wednesday 19 October 2016      Time: 630pm
Location: East Melbourne Synagogue, 488 Albert Street, East Melbourne (located 100 metres from Parliament Station - via the Northern Exit marked "Lonsdale St/Nicholson St")
Unrestricted Car-Parking commences outside Synagogue as Clearway finishes at 6.30pm sharp!

After some highly successful recent Peace Events/Grassroots Dialogues, please now join us for Chag Su-cot - the Jewish sacred festival of Tabernacles, where Jews traditionally celebrate/eat/live in a specially-built booth for 7 days & nights (imagine a week living out of a huge cubby-house with a roof made of palm fronds!)

This will be an amazing evening... music (drumming circle), Kosher/Halal Snack Packs, entertainment & tons of people from different backgrounds - youth and elders, Aboriginal, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and people of every faith/or not of faith - along with Jews of every stripe too! We are welcoming Asylum-Seekers and Refugees - and are especially happy to be hosting a contingent of Burmese Chin community - who just visited the Jewish Museum and adjacent Synagogue

In the spirit of friendship and multiculturalism, there will be a special Performance at our Su-cah party by Maracatu Estrela do Mar - a Melbourne-based Afro-Brazilian percussion group that plays Maracatu de Baque Virado and other rhythms from the north-east of Brazil. They teach rhythm, song & movement at regular workshops to promote inclusion, break cultural barriers and facilitate social engagement. See http://www.estreladomar.com.au/maracatu.html

RSVP: abe@catalyst.melbourne  - especially if you/children can assist with decoration/preparation from 5pm
