Martyrdom of Guru Arjun Dev Ji (1563-1606 CE), commemorates the death of the fifth Sikh Guru, who was the first martyr Guru. He was responsible for the compilation of the Sikh scriptures (Guru Granth Sahib) and helped to build the Golden Temple at Amritsar.
