Calm in The City invites you to:
In the run up to UN Peace Day: Present Moments of Peace initiative
From Sept 1st - 20th, this initiative offers a series of personal reflections, via a short video response (30-45 secs) to the following question:
"In the present moment, what brings you into peace?" It could be a practice, a prayer, a mantra, an affirmation, a faith or belief, a commentary to the self etc.
We add a little music to the end of the video so that listeners can absorb the reflection and experience their own 'present moment of peace'. These reflections are being posted on Instagram (see here).
We've already had some lovely contributions. But if you felt inspired to also offer a short reflection - or someone from your faith community (female voices contributions are particularly welcome), it would be wonderful to receive it (please WhatsApp to +61 406 371 894). But no pressure also.
We hope that these short personal reflections from individuals from many different backgrounds and walks of life will provide authentic, relatable and practical inspirations of peace for all.
On UN Peace Day: A silent UN Peace Day online vigil
This initiative will culminate in a special silent UN Peace Day online vigil on the morning of Thursday 21st September, 7.30 - 8.00am - registration is here.
You are invited to 'drop-in' and attend the vigil for however long you can to offer your peaceful thoughts and prayers around the three intentions around peace (7.30 - 7.40am), hope (7.40 - 7.50am), and compassion (7.50 - 8.00am) - and leave a message of peace also.
