Date: Monday 2 August 2021      Time: 6pm to 8pm

The Prayer and Reflection project is a photographic and documentary study of What Prayer and Reflection personally means to individuals across a broad range of backgrounds and age groups. Shepparton Community members were photographed in prayer and reflection and audio interviewed.

Overview
Through the Shepparton Interfaith Network and Picnic 4 Peace, there exists a strong networking with residents of different cultures, different faiths, African, Syrian, Afghani, Iraqi, Sri Lankan, Punjabi, Indian and the like. These connections are strong through the monthly volunteer Picnic 4 Peace and similar interfaith events, and interfaith participation at the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District.

Our contacts and relations were of significance to obtain confidence, trust and entrance to sacred activity to photograph and express prayer, faith and relationships with the Divine in different faith systems, and in the case of humanists and people of no faith, their values and reverence for life.

The project set out to make 20+ photographic studies using a professional photographer in the region who is frequently engaged in multicultural and intercultural activities, and activities involving refugees and new settlers to the region.

It is planned for this project to be a growing collection over time.
