We are the World! Bring a bell! Concert

A broad selection of musical and dance heritage of Victorian communities, ending with hand-held Federation bells and audience bells. 

The WE ARE THE WORLD! Bring a Bell! Concert  presents a magnificent blend  of traditional, classical and sacred music and dance from Victoria’s cultural heritage.

With 60 performers, this world repertoire of live music and dance, will be performed at the Ballroom at the Rippon Lea Estate.

Excellent exponents of the heritage of 15 ethnic and faith traditions present over 100 years’ old  music,  using authentic traditional instruments,  in 7 languages, such as in Woi Wurrung  language-in-restoration of the Wurundjeri people, Hindu sacred music on veena,  Scottish and Italian accordion music and traditional dance, Italian Bel Canto and Christian sacred music,  Persian traditional Shajarian style vocal, Turkish Sufi and Sephardi  and Babylonian Jewish sacred music, Armenian traditional music and dance and Orthodox Christian choir music…

Some of the greatest exponents of these diverse musical forms and traditions were compiled into a synergy which is the common language of music, masterfully blending the entire selection into one musical unit, concluding with Federation and audience bells joining in unity.

All dances are performed in authentic traditional colourful and intricate costumes.

Especially designed for family viewing by all faith communities, observing throughout the entire concert the strict performance standards of orthodox  faith traditions.  Please bring a bell!
