  Roose is a political sociologist and Associate Professor of Politics at t
 he Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation\, Deakin Univ
 ersity. His research sits at the intersection of politics\, sociology\, an
 d religion\, with a particular focus on violent extremism\, terrorism\, an
 d the role of masculinity in radicalisation — including the appeal of far-
 right\, jihadist\, and misogynist movements.\nA Chief Investigator on mult
 iple Australian Research Council-funded projects\, Dr Roose has partnered 
 with the Department of Home Affairs\, Department of Defence\, and the Offi
 ce of the eSafety Commissioner\, among others. He has served as an expert 
 witness in terrorism cases and delivered keynote addresses at national and
  international forums. His commentary has appeared in&nbsp\;The New York T
 imes\,&nbsp\;BBC\,&nbsp\;Time\, and&nbsp\;Al Jazeera. His books include&nb
 sp\;Masculinity and Violent Extremism&nbsp\;(2022) and&nbsp\;The New Demag
