 my.\nIn a world of increasing homelessness\, inequality and social justice
  has become an elusive concept\, often replaced by rhetoric that avoids ad
 dressing structural problems and blames individuals for their circumstance
 s. Politicians and commentator&rsquo\;s increasing race-baiting attitudes 
 and dehumanisation of the unemployed\, underprivileged and the incarcerate
 d is harming Australia.\nWhat can faith leaders and faith communities do t
 o alleviate the suffering? And what can we do to change structural disadva
 ntage? Elli will be joined with a panel of faith leaders to discuss practi
 cal ideas moving forward.\nMore about the speaker:&nbsp\;Elli has a divers
 e background and extensive experience in community services\, social polic
 y and adult education. Elli has worked for more than 20 years in community
  sector in residential youth programs\, alcohol and other drug rehabilitat
 ion for women\, community care and policy and research. In addition\, she 
 has also enjoyed teaching and management roles at Swinburne University and
  Eva Booth College. In addition\, Elli is a member of the Academic Committ
 ee at Eva Booth College (University of Divinity) and is also a serving mem
 ber of the community reference group for the Australian Health Practitione
 r Regulation Agency (APHRA).&nbsp\;Elli&rsquo\;s engagement in social just
 ice and policy development has also previously included representing The S
 alvation Army on the National Council of Women\, the Australian Women&rsqu
 o\;s Coalition reporting to the Minister for Women&rsquo\;s Affairs\, the 
 National Roundtable on Human Trafficking and Slavery as well as a range of
  committees and project teams. A keen interest in a broad range of areas i
 s reflected in the qualifications Elli holds in social science\, theology\
 , adult education\, community welfare work\, management and human resource
 s management. Elli&rsquo\;s Master of Arts thesis examined domestic violen
 ce service delivery and her PhD examined risk\, compliance and identity in
