He has retired as Executive Director of the Australian Centre for C hristianity and Culture\, Director of the Research Centre for Public and C ontextual Theology\, and Professor of Theology\, all in CSU. Prior to that \, he was President of the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA )\, President of the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA)\, Professor of Theo logy in Griffith University\, Dean and President of the Brisbane College o f Theology\, and Principal of Trinity Theological College\, Brisbane. He h as also lectured in Indonesia for over forty years\, thirteen of them full -time. During that time he was involved in interfaith dialogue\, both in A ustralia and in South-East Asia\, particularly in Indonesia\, including le cturing at State Islamic Universities in Indonesia\, engaging in public di alogue with H.E. K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur)\, President of Indonesia \, and\, at the request of the Indonesian authorities\, being involved in the peace process and negotiations between Muslims and Christians in the M olucca Islands in Indonesia in the 2000s\, which thankfully were successfu l. He became a Presidential Friend of Indonesia in 2010. He was a Scholar at Worcester College\, Oxford\, and did postgraduate study\, leading to hi s PhD\, at the Universities of Leiden and Birmingham. He has four honorary doctorate degrees\, two from the UK and two from Australia\, and is a Com panion of the Order of Australia (AC).\n \;\nCost: $10.00 including Ko sher supper and a copy of Gesher.
