  Community | Building Community seminar series\nDate: Saturday 14 November
  2020&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; Time: 3pm to 5pmLocation: Online\nAs we recon
 struct our communities following the COVID-19 crisis\, we must reflect on 
 what sort of community we want to build. These&nbsp\;seminars will help us
  in this process.&nbsp\;\nIt will be addressing how we build those bonding
  relationships with family and close friends which are the essence of supp
 ortive community life.\nIn each seminar four speakers from different tradi
 tions and contexts will speak to the topic\, followed by discussion. The s
 peakers will include:\n\nChang Ji Fa Shi (Chen Buddhist)\nAssoc/Prof Bob D
 ixon (former director of the Catholic Pastoral Research Office)\nPs Scott 
 Hawkins (Urban Life\, Ringwood)\nRev Glenn Loughrey (National Aboriginal T
 orres Strait Islander Anglican Commission and vicar St Oswald’s\, Glen Wav
 erley)\nSwami Sunishthananda (Vedanta Hindu Centre\n\nThrough these semina
 rs we will seek to find what is common between our different traditions an
 d backgrounds and understand our differences.\nBuilding Bridging Community
 \nBridges are the relationships through which people work together on comm
 on interests\, through which people find and give each other the resources
  that are needed for living. They are the relationships we form with peopl
 e through our religious communities\, work and sport\, our neighbours and 
 other people we know through our local communities. The seminar will explo
 re how religious faiths can help to build the‘bridges’ in which there is t

 ed to announce a launch event for the project ‘Faith community supporting 
 healthy family relationships’.&nbsp\;The project aims to support and educa
 te faith community leaders to prevent and respond to family violence. The 
 Buddhist Council of Victoria was chosen to deliver this project by the Vic
 torian Government’s Multicultural Affairs and Social Cohesion Division (MA
 SC). The project is currently being piloted in selected Buddhist temples i
 n Victoria.\nThe event is to launch resources and training that have been 
 developed for the project and raise awareness of the project across the Bu
