 17\, Christians\, Muslims\, Jews\, and Hindus came together to start an in
 terfaith dialogue on climate change - acknowledging they each have a share
 d goal of protecting the environment. This came less than two years after 
 the Pope’s famous encyclical on climate change\, urging Catholics to take 
 responsibility for reducing greenhouse gases. At the same time\, the Churc
 h of Tuvalu was working hard to educate its followers about the dangers of
  interpreting the story of Noah and the great floods too literally as the 
 low-lying country faces sea level rise.\nThis event will explore the ways 
 our beliefs and values influence our concern and drive to act on climate c
 hange. The panel will reflect a range of religious denominations as well a

 , Asher has overseen the care and wellbeing of millions of Jews struggling
  to survive in a post-Soviet age. He helped mastermind the resurgence of J
 ewish life that is thriving today in the region. Under his 20-year leaders
 hip of the former Soviet Union division\, the Joint established its massiv
 e network of Jewish welfare centres and community centres that today susta
 in Jewish lives and Jewish life across eleven time-zones. This is a unique
  opportunity to learn how a new generation of post-Soviet Jewry is evolvin
 g in one of the most complex\, fast-changing\, diverse and critical parts 
 of the world. Asher is visiting Australia as a guest of JDC\, the Joint. F
