DESCRIPTION:Victorian Local Government Multicultural Issues Network (VLGMIN
) invites you to:\nSafeguarding Social Cohesion - &ldquo\;An interfaith im

 &nbsp\;Time: 12pm to 1pmLocation: Kensington Town Hall\,&nbsp\;30-34 Bella
ir St\, Kensington&nbsp\; Interfaith is a unique space where inter-cultura
lism and social inclusion happen naturally. It is imperative for Councils
to protect and strengthen community cohesion by recognising the significan
ce of religious literacy (knowledge of\, and ability to understand\, relig
ion) and engaging with all of their interfaith communities. Without direct
connection to these communities Council becomes ineffective\, uninformed
and disconnected from their communities. This presentation is a collaborat
ion between the Interfaith Network of the City of Greater Dandenong and th
e City of Darebin Interfaith Council with contribution from Nivy Balachand
ran of the United Religious Initiative who will offer her perspectives on
international models of interfaith councils. Presenters:\n\nAziz Cooper\,

vernment needs to have religious literacy\nHelen Heath\, Interfaith Networ

s on how councils can leverage their work through partnerships and collabo
rations to achieve better outcomes to strengthen social cohesion across th
