  the founder and president of Muslim Collective\, formerly known as Muslim
 s for Progressive Values\, a national grassroots progressive Muslim organi
 zation. She is a PhD student and Research Assistant for the UNESCO Chair\,
  Cultural Diversity and Social Justice\, at the Alfred Deakin Institute fo
 r Citizenship and Globalisation. Reem has a Bachelor&rsquo\;s degree in In
 ternational Relations and Economics (Brown University\, USA) and a Master&
 rsquo\;s degree in Development Management (London School of Economics\, UK
 ). Her PhD research encompasses a comparative analysis of countering viole
 nt extremism policy and the role of intercultural dialogue. Reem&rsquo\;s 
 research interests include progressive Islamic thought on social justice a
 nd human rights. Reem is also a Fellow of the progressive Islamic think ta
 nk\, the Critical Muslim Institute\, based in the United Kingdom.\nReem&rs
