 H 52.13-53.12\,&nbsp\;a passage traditionally read in churches on Good Fri
 day and interpreted by many Christians as referring to the coming Messiah.
 \nAbout the speakers:&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nDr Mark Brett is Professor of Hebrew B
 ible at Whitley College\, within the Melbourne College of Divinity. He is 
 author of Biblical Criticism in Crisis? (Cambridge 1991) and Genesis: Proc
 reation and the Politics of Identity (Routledge 2000)\, and editor of Ethn
 icity and the Bible (Brill 1996/2002). His most recent scholarly articles 
 have focussed on the indigenous origins of Israel and postcolonial biblica
 l studies. He is a deacon at the Collins Street Baptist Church.\nRabbi All
 ison Conyer is Senior Rabbi at Etz Hayim Progressive Synagogue in Bentleig
 h\, with experience in Jewish education\, community outreach\, counselling
 \, fundraising\, outreach to the youth\, young adults and young families. 
 She is passionate about scuba diving\, acting\, bushwalking and camping\, 
 as well as social justice\, Israel\, interfaith dialogue and Jewish growth
