Ramadan is a holy month of fasting which is a very special time for billions of Muslims around the world. Along with its spiritual benefits, Ramadan also brings with it an opportunity to promote interfaith sharing and dialogue which strengthen relationships between members of different faiths and cultures.
In Victoria, many different interfaith networks and organisations hosted interfaith iftars in the spirit of brotherhood and unity.
The urgent need to combat discrimination and hate crimes in Europe and the world at large calls for higher degrees of cooperation between civil society organizations, stated the Baha'i International Community (BIC) Brussels Office at a recent seminar, titled "Turning words into action to address anti-Semitism, intolerance and discrimination".
The Seminar was hosted by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the European Parliament Anti-Racism and Diversity Intergroup (ARDI) from 16 to 17 June 2016 in Brussels.

The second International Day of Yoga was celebrated across major Australian cities including Canberra and Melbourne with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull hailing yoga as one of India's gifts to the world.
Turnbull commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for supporting global peace and well-being and described the ancient practice of yoga as one of India's gifts to the world and acknowledged its aim to develop resilience,thoughtfulness, respect and harmony, towards each other and the world.

Victoria Police hosted its 12th Chief Commissioner’s Iftar dinner on Tuesday night to commemorate Ramadan together with representatives and leaders from Victoria’s Muslim and faith communities.
More than two hundred and eighty people attended the event, including more than 100 women of Muslim faith, 80 police officers and employees, and Muslim and faith communities from across the state.
The High Court has rejected an appeal against the Bendigo mosque, giving final approval to the project.
All legal avenues have now been exhausted, the Bendigo Advertiser reports
The mosque has already passed the City of Greater Bendigo, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Victoria Court of Appeal.
