The Buddhist  Council of Victoria together with other faith groups bring to the community of Melbourne Meditation Matters on  August 7th 2011 Prince Philip Theatre, Architecture Building, Melbourne University. It was a day that brought together a multifaith collaboration of 13 renowned presenters share to their insight, experience and knowledge on meditation.

Meditation Matters

Participants from different cultures and faiths were immersed in presentations of vast cultural and faith diversity. For some it will be an unforgettable and rewarding experience in meditation. Many came who are interested in the techniques of meditation to help themselves or others to have a better wellbeing.

The morning started with a plenary session on Meditation and its benefits with Dr. Craig Hassed, Chris Morris and Dr. Jo-anne Hughson highlighting to the audience of the benefits of meditation not only to adults but students as well.

The morning elective sessions  were Dr. Amanda Sinclair on Mindful Leadership, Philip Collins on Christian Meditation, Anja Tanhane on Zen Meditation and Bhakta Dasa on Krishna Meditation.

Burmese Vipassana Meditation by Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Zanita, Uncle Reg Blow and his experience of Transcendental Meditation, Gabbi Sar-Shalom on Jewish Meditation  and Dr Jo-Anne Hughson on self–enquiry followed after lunch.

The day closed with Father John Dupuche, Brahmacharini Nivedita Chaitanya  and Jamel Kaur presenting the concepts of Meditation for everyone.
