Welcome to FCCV

Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body. It is the successor to the Leaders of Faith Communities Forum, founded in 1995.

FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.

Rabbi Micky Boyden, an Israeli progressive rabbi and sought after speaker, presents:

“Israel, Iran  and where we go from here!”

and “And a dip into how Jews read the holy scriptures”

About the speaker: Rabbi Michael (Micky) Boyden was born in London and is a graduate of London University and the Leo Baeck College. He served a reform congregation near Manchester and was Vice President of the Assembly of Rabbis of the Reform Synagogues of Great Britain, before moving to Israel in 1985. He has since founded Rabbis for ISrael and was directly involved in the establishment of advocacy group called 'We are for Israel', which was supported by hundreds of rabbis and Jewish leaders worldwide. He is also a past President of the Israel Council of Progressive Rabbis and served as director of its national Rabbinic Court for Conversion. In Israel he pioneered the establishment of the two Reform congregations and is now the spiritual leader of 'Kehilat Yonatan'. He is a frequent international speaker, particularly on the topics he will cover in this presentation, and writes regularly for the Ha'aretz and The Times of Israel newspapers. Rabbi Boyden is visiting Australia as guest rabbi of Kedem Progressive Congregation, Armadale.
