The Interfaith Network of the City of Greater Dandenong invites you to:

Tikkun Olam: The climate crisis and saving life on Earth | 7th Annual World Interfaith Harmony Day Breakfast 2019

Date: Saturday 2 February 2019      Time: 7am to 9am
Location: The Castle - 61 Princes Highway, Hemmings Park, Princes Highway, Dandenong

Guest Speaker: Mr Pablo Brait

The Jewish concept of Tikkun Olam refers to the actions one can take to "repair" the world. With the natural systems and climate that support life collapsing from human over-exploitation and pollution, this concept has never been more urgently needed. Campaigner and community organiser Pablo Brait will present on the causes of global warming and its impacts, which we are already seeing across the world via record-breaking heatwaves, bushfires, droughts and storms, and look at how we can act collectively and individually to repair the damage.

About the Speaker: Pablo is the grandson of a holocaust survivor and his grandfather's story and experiences helped spark a lifelong interest in social justice. For over a decade Pablo has dedicated his life to speeding up the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy here in Australia. He has worked on community campaigns in Victoria, NSW and Queensland against inappropriate coal and coal seam gas developments and in favour of renewable energy. He is currently a campaigner with Market Forces, a group that pressures banks, superannuation funds and insurance companies to shift money away from fossil fuels and towards projects that enhance the natural environment.

This is a FREE breakfast event.
