Women and Faith: Australian Catholic University

The Autralian Catholic University and the Australian Intercultural Society invite you to:

Listening to the Female Voice: Women and Faith

Date: Tuesday 6 March 2018      Time: 6pm to 8pm
Location: Christ Lecture Theatre, Australian Catholic University, 115 Victoria Parade, Fitzroy, VIC 3065

Religious institutions have long been seen as patriarchal establishments where the female voice has often been silenced. However, today we see a rising trend of women speaking up and taking lead in faith movements and reclaiming space and participation in religious institutions and hierarchies. To what extent have women been silenced? What space do women share with men in shaping matters of faith? Who are women and movements of faith that have become points of inspiration? Where are we today on matters of justice and equality?
