Ladies from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association and St Paul Apostle Parish Interfaith and Ecumenical Committee met in Endeavour Hills on Tuesday 18 October 2011, to promote interfaith dialogue . This meeting was initiated by the ladies of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association in an effort to better understand the life and works of St. Paul and his role in Christianity.

Brimbank & Maribyrnong Interfaith Network had its second community bus tour to places of Worship on 20th October, between 9:30 am and 1:30pm.  Four separate buses departed from Brimbank and Maribyrnong Councils offices’ to visit Westgate Baptist Church, Quang Minh Temple and Deer Park Bosnian Mosque.

The Service of Remembrance was held in St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne, on the afternoon of Sunday September 11, attended by about two hundred people, in the presence of the US Consul-General in Melbourne, Mr Frank C. Urbancic Jr. People of all faiths were welcomed by Bishop Philip Huggins, North-West Regional Bishop, followed by Opening Prayers by the Hon. Simon Crean, MP representing Prime Minister Julia Gillard and the Hon. Sophie Mirabella,  MP representing the Leader of the Opposition Tony Abbott.

On Sunday September 11, the Jewish Christian Muslim Association, together with the United States Consulate General Melbourne, hosted a commemoration of the 10th anniversary of September 11 2001 attacks at the 9/11 Memorial Trees, Kings Domain, Melbourne. The Premier of Victoria, Melbourne’s Lord Mayor and representatives of Melbourne’s religious communities were among those present commemorating the occasion.

The Buddhist  Council of Victoria together with other faith groups bring to the community of Melbourne Meditation Matters on  August 7th 2011 Prince Philip Theatre, Architecture Building, Melbourne University. It was a day that brought together a multifaith collaboration of 13 renowned presenters share to their insight, experience and knowledge on meditation.

On the 17th August, Boroondara Interfaith Network held an encouraging and motivating evening focusing on how we can create a sense of community and belonging between people of different faith, cultures and generations. This gathering was held in partnership with the WellSpring Centre in Ashburton and the Building Bridges Interfaith Youth Program. 35 young people participated in the dialogue sessions with 15 older community members, Councillors and Faith leaders.

The Victorian Interfaith Networks Conference 2011 will take place on Sunday, 27th of November 2011 @ St.kilda Town Hall commencing 1:30pm. The conference will be free of charge and include a keynote address, facilitated discussion, art-exhibitions, delicious food and a multifaith youth forum.
