2015 World Interfaith Harmony Week: Darebin Interfaith Network

 

The City of Darebin in partnership with a number of local religious and community organisations including Darebin Ethnic Communities Council and the Islamic Society of Victoria hosted a celebration of World Interfaith Harmony Day at the Darebin Intercultural Centre on Thursday, 5th February 2015.

2015 World Interfaith Harmony Week Breakfast: Dandenong Interfaith Network

 

Since October 2010 when King Abdullah II of Jordan proposed to the United Nations that the first full week of February each year be World Interfaith Harmony Week, people involved in interfaith globally have been joining together to celebrate this week. The week is based on Love of God and Love of the Neighbour, or based on Love of the Good and Love of the Neighbour, each according to a person’s own religious traditions or convictions.

Moonee Valley Interfaith Network goes to school with film

 

Just in time for the multicultural festivities in March, the Moonee Valley Interfaith Network (MVIN), in partnership with the Campfire Film Foundation have completed a creative 11minute film about the local area. I Believe in the Local News takes an invigorating tour through the local area and the soul of its people. It’s being launched in schools over the coming months with the support of the Moonee Valley Council, providing a wonderful opportunity to engage students in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions.

Invitation to NCJWA(Vic) Interfaith Women's Model Seder 22 March 2015

 

In 2015, the National Council of Jewish Women of Australia Vic) together with the United Jewish Education Board will be hosting a women’s Interfaith Model Passover Seder, the purpose of which is to provide opportunities for women of diverse faiths to specifically learn about Jewish festivals and traditions in a participatory experience, while at the same time promoting friendship and understanding.

Preventing Family Violence Forum: Casey MultiFaith Network

 

White Ribbon Day is marked around the world every year on 25th November to highlight the existence of family violence in an attempt to take a step towards its eradication. On 20th November 2014, the Casey Multifaith Network held forum entitled “Preventing Family Violence” to express their solidarity with the cause of the White Ribbon Foundation, which was attended by over 120 people of different faith backgrounds.
