Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body. It is the successor to the Leaders of Faith Communities Forum, founded in 1995.
FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.
St Kilda Hebrew Congregation invites you to:
Sing as One | Multifaith social music initiative
Date: Sunday 24 November 2019 Time: 7:45pm for 8pm start
Location: St Kilda Shule, 12 Charnwood Grove, St Kilda VIC 3182
Social media has been used to cause so much hatred and division.
Imagine: Using social media for love, unity, friendship and togetherness
Imagine: 1000 people who have never met, singing one song in unison
Many voices. One message.
The Power of Imagination: St Kilda Shule invites you to a multi-faith social music initiative. Just under 1000 places exist and are likely to sell out very quickly.
This is a wonderful opportunity for people across many faiths to sing together in unity, friendship and togetherness.
Cost: $25 | For tickets click here
Attendees, who ideally will have a passion for singing, are invited to come in traditional faith clothing. Attendees will be divided into one of three vocal parts and will go to one of three venues at St Kilda Shule to learn their vocal part with over 300 others in that part. After 45 minutes - 1 hour, all three groups will combine to sing in harmony in one large space for the live production (together with some brief welcome speeches by faith leaders) which will take up to 1 hour and will be filmed and uploaded to the internet.
