St Kilda Multicultural Iftar 2017: City of Port Phillip Multifaith Network

The City of Port Phillip Multifaith Network invites you to:

St Kilda Multicultural Iftar 2017

Date: Sunday 4 June 2017       Time: 5pm to 8pm
Location: Bubup Nairm Family and Children’s Centre  99b Carlisle Street, St Kilda

The City of Port Phillip Multifaith Network invites you to share this multicultural occasion, greeting new neighbours in a celebration of friendliness. Invited speakers from various religious traditions will speak about fasting and rituals before we break fast together.

Iftar (Arabic: break-fast) takes place every night during Islamic month of RAMADHAN, following prayers. Iftar is more about fasting than feasting. The emphasis is on friendship, simplicity and regard for one’s neighbour. The food will be simple and ceremonial, with the occasion providing ample time for sharing, learning and reconnecting.

Feel welcome to enter and exit respectfully if you are unable to attend the full duration.

Cost:  Free. Donations will be collected at event for charity.
