Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body.  FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.

As a member of the Community Capacity team, you will be part of an exciting service that supports activities to promote diversity and build a more inclusive, engaged and self-reliant community through leadership development of culturally diverse communities.

This challenging role will require a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player who will play a key role supporting Council's Interfaith work, including:

  • Working collaboratively to plan, implement and evaluate a range of activities focusing on leadership development and capacity building that respond to the self-identified needs of diverse faith communities.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with and between relevant communities, service providers, faith-based educational institutions and other relevant bodies.
  • Facilitating opportunities to enable cultural expression, transmission, recognition and celebration between generations and groups.
  • Supporting relevant social research and community engagement processes to increase understanding of community needs, challenges and aspirations.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of policies, procedures and associated community programs across Council.
  • Facilitating connections to, and awareness of, the community services sector amongst interfaith and intercultural communities.
  • Actively participating in strategic partnerships to improve service outcomes.
